Rob Grien Joins TM Capital

Grien has joined the firm as a Managing Director and Head of the Finance and Restructuring Advisory Group. Rob is based in the New York office and brings to TM Capital extensive experience in leveraged transactions and restructurings, together with in-depth knowledge of private and public leveraged finance markets.
Rob began his finance career nearly 30 years ago, and over the course of his career has committed billions of dollars in debt and equity linked facilities spanning several hundred transactions. His areas of expertise include complex financial structuring, restructuring, due diligence, credit analysis, valuation and market pricing.

Prior to joining TM Capital, Rob was a Senior Managing Director and Head of the Leveraged Finance Group at Deerfield Capital Management, where he founded and managed the firm’s direct middle market lending practice and was responsible for the origination and execution of nearly $1 billion in first lien, second lien and mezzanine loans. Previously, Rob held several positions at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, including Managing Director, Chief Credit Officer of the Investment Banking and Leveraged Finance Groups and Chairman of the Credit Commitment Committee. Rob was also a founding partner of DLJ Strategic Partners and co-founder and chief operating officer of the Kelso Mezzanine Fund. He is a graduate of Tulane University and received an MBA from Columbia Business School, where he graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma honors.
