TM Capital Named Investment Banking Firm of the Year
June 2012 | News & PressNew York, NY – June 13, 2012 – TM Capital is pleased to announce that we have been named Investment Bank of the Year by ACG New York and The M&A Advisor at the 2012 Champion’s Awards Gala. TM Capital was also awarded Middle-Market Deal of the Year and Cross-Border Deal of the Year for the divestiture by Eastman Kodak Company of its Eastman Gelatine subsidiary. The honors were awarded at the annual “Art of the Deal” Awards Gala, held on Tuesday, June 12 at Sotheby’s New York, which recognizes New York’s leading firms driving middle market growth, top transactions and the Investment Bank of the Year. Nominees were evaluated by an independent judging panel of industry experts.
“Winning Investment Bank of the Year is extremely rewarding after one of the busiest years in firm history,” said Jim Grien, President of TM Capital. “We are fortunate to work with extraordinary clients including some of the world’s most recognized corporations – for which we have completed transactions that have not only helped shape industries, but have generated substantial returns for owners and investors. This has been a record year in which we closed a remarkable roster of transactions, spanning a range of complex M&A, financing and advisory engagements. In particular, our transaction record reflects the breadth of our global capabilities, our long-term relationships with clients and our industry expertise – including significant successes in the Healthcare, Technology, Industrial and Consumer sectors. We are proud of our team’s achievements over the past year, and are grateful to ACG New York and The M&A Advisor for honoring us in this manner.”
The Middle-Market Deal of the Year and Cross-Border Deal of the Year awards recognized TM Capital’s work with Eastman Kodak, which retained our firm to sell its subsidiary, Eastman Gelatine Corporation, a leading provider of specialty gelatin products used in photographic, pharmaceutical and food markets. TM Capital completed Kodak’s divestiture of Eastman Gelatine to Netherlands-based Rousselot, a leading global manufacturer of gelatin and collagen peptides, and a division of VION Food Group, an international food company with revenues of $12 billion. This was the third divestiture that we have completed for Eastman Kodak Company.
TM Capital was also nominated as a category finalist for three other transactions: the acquisition of ATEK Medical Group by Vention Medical, the sale of Centiv Services to The Riverside Company and the divestiture by Global Power of its Deltak division to Hamon & Compagnie.
